Orsberget is situated to the east of the Edslan lake in the municipality of Åmål. It is the northern expansion of nature reserve Baljåsen. Orsberget is in fact the name of one of the highest points of this forest area on slopes.

Starting from the parking, you follow the orange signs of the Orsbergetleden (10km) through the woods. Once you reach the lake, the path bends to the left and you walk along the bank of the Edslan lake.

About 2,5 km further, you reach Mjölkudden, a beautiful camp site at the lake. This is one of the more than 100 camp sides of DANO, a non-profit association, aiming to preserve and protect the unique natural beauty and ecosystems of the Dalsland Nordmarken lake system. Besides some fire pits, a biological toilet and a wind shelter you will also find here a small hut with 4 wooden sleeping benches. This is an ideal picnic spot!

This is also where the yellow loop of 3,5 km through the forest starts. The first part is the same as the Orsbergetleden so you follow the orange and yellow signs. You also have the choice to walk first along the lake or straight up into the forest. Personally, I prefer to walk through the forest first. The path is marked well everywhere. At the top you have some beautiful views.

Coming out of the forest you arrive at the Skackerud parking lot from where the path takes you back to the Mjölkudden camp site along the lake. If you only want to walk the yellow loop, than park your car at the Skackerud parking lot (59.105896, 12.445729).

From Mjölkudden you again follow the orange signs back to the parking lot at the start.

Tip: this is also an ideal walk if you are canoeing in the region or travelling with your tent or camper. This walk doesn't start too far from another DANO camp site, namely Hollsten ( 59.13173, 12.44752). Parking is also easy here.
If you decide to stay here overnight in your tent (or at any other DANO campsite) and use their facilities, make sure you have a nature conservation card, which you can buy online upfront or on-site. It will cost you 80 SEK (2025). If you can't show this card upon being controlled, you will receive a fine that you must pay immediately.
