I grew up in the countryside and always had a connection with nature. As a child I wanted to run a farm in France but due to several allergies I walked a different path. The love for the outdoor remained.
I love to walk, travel, read, rowing and discovering new places. I've enjoyed walking holidays in England, Wales and Scotland with friends. When traveling, I prefer exploring cities on foot rather than by public transport. And on January 1st, I like to take a long walk along the beach.
Though I did consider a career in tourism, I studied languages and management instead. My first long-distance trip was a group trek to the Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. Later, I traveled solo, mostly within Europe, but also to Peru, where I hiked the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu. Additionally, my work in international logistics has given me the opportunity to travel extensively
During Covid, I started adding more walk breaks into my workday. Having just bought a new house in Middelburg, I used my walks to explore the city and its surroundings. Not only did I become more active, but it also helped me relax and reduce stress. On weekends, I would also go for walks in nature. Regularly you could find me in Oranjezon a Nature Reserve in Vrouwenpolder, Zeeland.
From passion to work
In 2023, my coach advised me to read the book "Master your mindset" by Michael Pilarczyk, with the subtitle "Live Your Most Beautiful Life". And it was only a bit later during one of my walks along the canal between Middelburg and Veere, that I realised I had to do something more with "walks".
Later that year I lost my job, which was for me the sign to change course. I became an independent travel advisor and completed a travel advisor course at NHA.
Virtual Assistant: flexibility and organisation
In addition, my background in languages, management, and logistics is a perfect foundation to also work as a virtual assistant. I assist entrepreneurs and businesses with several tasks such as calendar management, client communication, and administrative support.
With years of experience in international logistics, I understand how crucial organisation and efficiency are.
The combination of structure in my role as Virtual Assistant and my creative, inspiring work as Travel Advisor brings me the ideal balance.
Adventure and freedom
The last two years I have been a lot in Sweden, where I embrace the silence and nature. My camper - 'my Ventje' - gives me the freedom to work from anywhere I want whilst also exploring new hiking trails. Whether I am supporting a client with practical matters, giving advice on beautiful hiking trails, or hiking in nature myself, my work and life are completely in balance.
With this mix of nature, travel and remote work I live my most beautiful life. I like to help others do the same - whether that is through practical support or by inspiring people to discover new (hiking) regions: one step at a time
Warm walking greetings!
